Roadside Objects
“This series of paintings is the result of a complex creative practice, the product of two parallel processes of creation, each of them with a different author. The first is the ordinary person who created the objects depicted in the paintings to earn his or her living. The second is the artist who finds beauty in these strange objects, a stimulus to his own creative production. ‘Roadside Objects’ draws attention primarily through the formal method of conceptualization, but also testifies to the creativity of people forced to confront new capitalist realities. Wedding dresses displayed for sale or borrowed, exhibited on the door of the home, are a paradoxical but also moving sight, an illustration of a difficult and complex reality.” (Edi Hila)
